BIOGRAPHY: Received the following information from Virginia Fuller WOTHE, who made a successful DAR application a number of years ago which you can get the files for if you approach the DAR: THADDEUS FULLER Grave site;Thaddeus & Susannah OLIVER FULLER were buried together in the following location:Elk Twp just north of McArthur.State Rd 5-3. From SR 93 North of McArthur on TR 14 on eastside justnorth of TR 24.;Article "Dedication Service held by the DAR" Democrat Enquirer, McArthur Ohio.;"A united Memorial Service was held by the local D.A.R. Chapter, Saturday evening at the recently placed marker of the grave of Thaddeus FULLER, a revolutionary soldier. The regent, Mrs. W.H. COULTRAP told of the location of this spot and the extensive search for the records of the warservice and the purchase of the farm on which he lived until his death and on which he and his wife Susannah FULLER were buried.Those present were members of the chapter and descendants of Thaddeus FULLER, Mrs. Charles FULLER, daughter, Miss Frances Fuller, Mrs.Rhoda Johnson, Mr. Lemuel FULLER, Mrs. Flora McDANIELS, Mrs Hazel SIMPSON, and Mrs. Helen SAVELY.
Mrs. Jane DOWD DALLEY gave an interesting history of his family and of the time in which he lived. An Americanflag was placed on the grave and the Pledge of Allegiance was given, followed with taps by Robert HOWELL."; the DAR placed this marker 14 June 1947.;Aunt Virginia has a photo of the house Thaddeus FULLER built and lived in. This photowas taken 1944. "The home consisted of the oak log cabin, of the main part of it; still strong and sturdy; the remainder has been more recently improved and enlarged." Thaddeus moved to Elk Township 1817 with the family of Lemuel LANE.;She also sent along a photocopy of pg. 60 of A Brief History of Vinton County.;"Thaddeus FULLER had been a soldier of the Revolution in his youth, and a prisoner of war. He was the son of Benjamin FULLER who was descended from Robert FULLER of Dedham, Massachusetts. Thaddeus lived until 1834, and was buried on his own land. The D.A.R. searched out the location and had a marker erected in 1947. William FULLER was three years old when he came with his family to Elk Township. In 1837, he married Celesta LANE. She died five years later leaving 2 sons, Lemuel, & Lorenzo. Fanny FULLER married G.W.SISSON,long a druggist in McArthur."; (note) Frances "Fannie" FULLER was the youngest daughter of Thaddeus &Susannah OLIVER FULLER.; During his life Thaddeus lived in the following locations: Bangor,ME, Francestown, N.H., Charleston, N.H., Rutland, VT., Ticonderoga, N.Y.;Thaddues appears on 1793 tax list for Francestown, N.H.;History of Francestown N.H.: lived in the STILES place at the foot of Russian Hill;Also mentioned in American Genealogical Biographical Index Vol 59.
