|My name is Alla Kats. My family immigrated to the United States from Ukraine in 1995, and, to help my children better understand our heritage, I am researching our family tree. |
My maternal great grandfather, Velvel Schneider, lived in the small Ukranian shtetl of Jurin. His descendants are scattered all across the world; the United States, Germany, Australia, Israel, and Ukraine itself.
My father's side of the family comes from the Ukranian town of Tamashpol. Their last name was Snitkovsky.I would appreciate any information about my grandparents, David Snitkovsky and Rosa Specktor, and their predecessors.
I am also researching my husband's family. His maternal grandparents, Nuchim and Brana Russovsky, were killed in the concentration camp Mertvaya Petlya, in Petchora, Ukraine (in 1943).
I have absolutely no information on the relatives of my father-in-law, Moysey Kats.
If there is anyone who knows any information, I would be eternally grateful, as well as willing to share the information I myself have collected.
