Introduction
The data entered in the location fields without an accompanying date represents the only location given for an individual. If it is a birth location, it could be the place where the person came from but they may not have been born there. If it is a death location, it could be the last known residence of the person and not necessarily the place where they actually died.
Although it is a wonderful resource for Bouton family data, we Bouton descendants are well aware of the many errors contained in James Boughton's work. The second Bouton genealogy by Willis A. Boughton attempted to correct some the worst errors. I am sure that other errors are waiting to be uncovered. Anyone who has ever tried to find someone in James Boughton's book will agree that his numbering scheme was quite arbitrary and confusing. Many individuals are listed twice, sometimes with different data. Many are indexed incorrectly. I wish he had used one of the numbering schemes I have found in other genealogies I have seen. I have tried to interpret his "system" and put the correct children with the correct parents, but I admit that I may have made some errors. Also, when you input that much data, errors do creep in. If you spot an error, you should email me at [email protected] and include any documented proof, if available. I will be glad to correct my data.
