|I am searching for decendents of John and Bridget Keating who came to the United States from Ireland around 1854.They first settled in Bristol, Pa and later New Hope PA. John and later his children, were boatsmen and worked around the canals in this part of PA. They had 11 children, of whom six are known to have survived to adulthood: Martin, John, Patrick, Hannah, Elizabeth and Mary Ann.|
Bridget died in 1871 in New Hope, PA and the family resided there until moving to New Jersery sometime in the 1870's or 1880's.
Hannah and Elizabeth lived in Edgewater, NJ.Hannah married Michael Conway and had at least three children: William, Madeline and Katherine.Nothing other is known about Elizabeth.
John Keating lived in Brooklyn, NY where he was a marine engineer.He was married to Mary??? and had two children: Beatrice and Milton.
Martin Keating migrated to San Francisco sometime in the 1880's and eventually became superintendent of streets for the City of San Francisco. He married Hannorah Linehan and had two children Agnes and Martin, jr..
Patrick Keating joined the sixth calvary and was stationed in the Dakota Territories from 1878 to 1883.There he met Martha Callaghan.they had five children:William, Vincent, Merritt,Margaret and Catherine.
Mary Ann is thought to have returned to Ireland as an adult where she died.
