|I am researching several families that settled in an area that is now the border between Osage and Maries Counties in Missouri. My 3rd great-grandfather, Hardy KEENEY, settled there prior to 1819.He was later joined by his father, Michael, and most of his siblings.Hardy married Julia Ann PATTIE (dau. of Sylvester PATTIE) and they had five children:Oliver Hazard Perry, Sylvester P., Susan H., Mary Malinda, and Matilda Jane.Hardy moved to Linn County, Kansas Territory in 1855 shortly after Julia's death. He married Lucinda DAVIS (nee NELSON) in 1860 and spent the remainder of his life around Trading Post, Kansas. He died in 1891 at the age of 91.|
My research has been centered on the descendants of Hardy KEENEY.However, in the process I have collected a great amount of information on the descendants of his siblings and other families that lived in the Osage-Maries Counties of Missouri. Some of these descendants have also been found in:IL,KS, TX, OK, WA, ID, CA, and CO.The major families in this grouping are: KEENEY, KEENY, BACKUES, GOODMAN, WALLACE, RIDENHOUR, MCQUEEN, JOHNSON, and ROGERS.
I am very interested in sharing the information I have collected with others.
