|My earliest proven ancestor was William White, a Revolutionary War soldier. He was born in Fauquier Co., Virginia according to his RW pension application, S1735VA. I have not been able to prove his parentage. William must have had a first marriage, probably in Fauquier Co., because all but one of his children were minors when he died at age 78 in Lincoln Co TN. I was accepted into D.A.R. #788860 in 1999 for William White.|
His RW pension stated that he relocated to Rowan Co NC after the war and lived there for 30 years before moving to Lincoln Co TN. His wife was listed as the same age in both the 1800 and 1810 NC census thus his first wife must have died in NC shortly after 1800. He married Elizabeth ___ born 1775 NC-20 years younger than he. He had a son, Thomas J. White, born 1801 NC whom I think was the last child of his first marriage. His first wife may have died in that childbirth? His next child was Martha born 1814 NC and no doubt the first child by he and Elizabeth.
The children's first names that usually separate the many White families were given to the children of his first marriage making it more difficult to climb my White Tree.
I will appreciate all corrections and/or additions and sharing with others of my lineage.
