|I am Bob Kibler, who married Sharon Quicksall. I was born on August 23, 1939, in Phoenix, AZ. I am a retired elementary school teacher from Ellensburg, WA.My early years were in the Mesa, AZ area. The family had a Guernsey dairy there. My Aunt Hazel Kibler authored a family history book, and I became interested in the subject. Many of the Kibler facts came through her. Many of the Dorman facts came from a letter written by Wilbur Dorman in 1953.|
The Dorman side just had a great family reunion at Big Bear Lake in Southern California, September 4-7, 2001.Cousins who had not seen each other for about 50 years showed up.They came from Connecticut, Oklahoma, Texas, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, and California. We had great home cooked meals, a slide show, many pictures of our ancestors, and a good time visiting with one another. What a warm feeling.

This unexpected newspaper clipping showed up after 47 years in a box of family pictures which had been hidden away.Note that W.S. was really 80 when he died, and 89 is a misprint. His birth date was Jan. 16, 1873, according to his daughter Eleanor Dorman Kibler Licari. His death date was Apr. 18, 1953, from his Funereal Service Book which lists the service as Apr. 21, 1953.

- Eleanor, Mary, and Ethel Wilbur Dorman, 1916 (63 KB)
My mother Eleanor did not really know her real mother. It is uncertain how Ethel Wilbur Dorman died.Supposedly there was a headache, a fever, a trip to the hospital, and death. One story has it that there were kidney complications during a pregnancy, and another that it was the flu.It now seems most likely that it was uremic poisoning.
