Charles Francis Myer (b. February 07, 1847, d. March 01, 1934)
Notes for Charles Francis Myer:
Came to Livingston Co., Illinois from Licking Co., Ohio as a small child and was raised on the Eli Myer farm.
As a child, he lost 2 fingers from his right hand when his brother Sam thought he would move his hand while he was chopping corn.Although he had two brothers who fought in the Civil War, his missing fingers and his youth prevented his participation.
After his father's death in 1868, he took over the farm, farming it until his retirement in 1916.
He lived with his son Harry for a while after retiring, but could not get along with his son's mother-in-law, Alice Smith, who was also living there, so he lived for some years in the 20's with Sherman Myer.
He moved back about 1930 and lived with his son until his death.
