8.ASA9 KINGSBURY (EPHRAIM8, JOSEPH7, JOSEPH6, HENRY5, THOMAS4, JAMES3, JAMES2, JOHN1) was born April 17, 1729, and died September 05, 1775 in Pomfret.He married SARAH HUNTINGTON May 12, 1756, daughter of Christopher Huntington and Abigail Abell. Notes Asa was appointed Ensign of the Train Band, May 1772;Lieutenant, 10-1774;he was with Capt. Jewett in command of the two companies of Norwich at the time of the Leington Alarm.Responding to the call of General Israel Putman they started the march to Roxbury in Col. Jebediah Huntington's Regt.Capt. Asa Kingsbury died in Pomfret at the age of 47 hears and his body was returned to West Farms "and interred with that respect due from the public to such characters."(Franklin Burying Grounds)Capt.
