| I am researching my Morgan Family. My g-grandfather, Rev. Jesse Morgan was born July 1, 1819. Records at New Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church at Sallis, Mississippi, relates that he moved from Newberry District, South Carolina to Mississippi in 1842, then married Mary Ann Stingley. They had four sons: James Win, Charles Theophilus Brown, Edward Franklin and John Christoher. This wife died. He, then, married Sarah Ann Elizabeth DuBard. They had a son: Jesse Allen. His mother died when he was 16 days old.Jesse then married her sister, Mary Syble DuBard. They hadseven children: Thomas Hooker (my grandfather), Mary Carolyn, Jeremiah Samuel, Sarah Harriett, William Phillip, Margaret Ann, and Ursula Viola.I am searching for information pertaining to the father and grandfather of Jesse Morgan.Jesse Morgan had a grandson, Clarence Edward Morgan, son of Edward Franklin, that became a Mississippi state senator. The book "History of Mississippi" under the heading "Clarence Edward Morgan" indicates that the father of Rev. Jesse Morgan was the "son of Samuel Morgan, who fought in the war of 1812, and that Samuel Morgan was the son of Jeremiah Morgan, who was a Virginian, and served in the Continental army during the Revolutionary War."|
This is all that I have been able to find pertaining to Samuel or his father Jeremiah Morgan.Any information would be greatly appreciated.I would also love to hear from any decendants of any of the above.I am also willing to share any information that I have.
