I am researching the LACKORE family (also commonly spelled LACORE and LUCORE) descended from John Lacore who married Sarah (Hurley) Ferguson in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on August 11, 1701.More specifically, my research focuses on his grandson, Lemuel Lucore, whose family settled in Jefferson and Lewis Counties in New York during the first half of the 19th century, and his great-great grandson William Henry Lackore.
William Henry Lackore, my great-great-great grandfather, moved his family from Champion Town, Jefferson County, New York, to the Chicago area in 1852, and then to Forest City, Winnebago County, Iowa, in the late 1850s.
In addition to LACKORE, surnames of interest include: AMBROSE, ARBUCKLE, BALL, BUCKLEY, BUMGARDNER, CHURCH, DURANT, HESLEY, JOHNSON, LANSING, PLUNKETT, SCHRAMM, and WEAVER.
A lot of information about the Lackore family is available at the Gene Pool website, maintained by my third cousin, Joann Todd Rabun.A narrative about the William Henry Lackore family can be found at http://www.rootsweb.com/~genepool/lackfc.htm. More information on this family is available at the Descendents of Edward Ball site at http://www.altlaw.com/edball/.
I would welcome any inquires on these families and would be happy to share information with all other researchers.
