|I am researching my grandfather Floyd Lamastus (b.Feb.15,1897 in Whittington,Franklin Co.,IL) and his father Thomas Marion Lamastus,Jr. (b.Jan 24,1865).Floyd Lamastus was married to Stella Conner (b. Aug 1,1901).Thomas M.Lamastus,Jr. according to the 1900 census of Barren Township,Franklin Co.,IL was a farmer who owned a farm free of mortgage. He was married to Sarah Jane Johnston(b.1867). He could not read or write. His father Thomas Marion Lamastus,Sr.(d. abt.1870) was from Union or Warren Counties,Kentucky. Thomas and Sarah had sons Harley, James, William, Floyd,George,Francis and Charles and daughters Sarah,Adie,Minnie and Mamie.|
Any information about my grandfathers would be appreciated. There was a Thomas listed in the Arkansas census of 1850-1859.I conjecture that this Thomas may have been in contact with James Monroe Lamastus who served in the Union army in Illinois. Did this Thomas start my branch of the Lamastus family in Illinois? For my family tree see the link below.
William(b.1792),Richard(b.1794),Elijah(b.1796),James(b.1800),Thomas(b.1802) and Alexander(b.1806) all born in Logan and Warren Counties,Kentucky were sons of Thomas Lamastus (b. 1765). It is my goal to connect Thomas Lamastus,Sr. with one of these six sons.
I am very interested in making further connections to other Lamastus,LaMastus, and kindred relationships. Also any Lamastus wanting to share information do not hesitate to chat with me.
