Marilyn Langner
Fairfield - Former Fairfield resident, Marilyn J. Langner, 56, of Mount Pleasant died at 8:40 p.m. November 3, 1990, at Burlington Medical Center in Burlington.
She was born Dec. 13, 1933, in Avery to Thomas and Grace Hannan Cooper. She married William John Langner Jr. on Sept. 24, 1949, in Fairfield; he died in 1964.
She had livied in Mount Pleasant the past five years working as a clerk in the minimum security facility Canteen in Mount Pleasant.
Previously she had lived in Fairfield and had worked as a beautician at Harry's Beauty Shop and for Evonne's Hair Clinic. She had also worked at the Iowa Liquor Store in Fairfield. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant and a past member of the Eagles Ladies Auxilliary in Fairfield.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Langner of Nevada and Toni D. Ramsey of Donnellson; a son William J. Langner III of Reo Rancho, New Mexico; six grandchildren; three brothers, Donald of SimiValley, Calif., Lowell of Tama and Cecil Cooper of Ottumwa and a sister, Phyllis Davidson of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield, the Rev. Deb Kiesey officiating.
Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Memorials may be made to the Intensive Care Unit at Burlington Medical Center or Fairfield Public Library.
