My ancestors consist of a mixture of colonial French, Spanish, and Germans who came to LA as early as 1715; Acadians who arrived in Acadie with D'Aulnay and were in LA by the mid to late 1700s; some Irish (Canadie/Kennedy; Farguerson) who were in LA before 1800; some English or Irish (Hicks) who were in New England during the War of 1812; cross country immigrants of English or Scots descent (Batts, Bonner, Terrell, Brown); and the Earle family who we believe emigrated from PA in the late eighteenth century to the Rapides-Catahoula/Richland/Franklin parish area of Louisiana. | |
