|I am doing genealogy research on the LeBlanc family in Louisiana that originated with Daniel LeBlanc cir. 1626 from New Acadia. In particular Antoine LeBlanc married to Marie Bourgeois. They had 10 children with a son named Rene, who married Anne Terriot. Rene and Anne had 14 children one of which being Entienne born November 11, 1722 married Elizabeth Boudrot, daughter of Claude Boudrot and Catherine Hebert.|
This is where my saga begins, Etienne was one of the three LeBlanc families that show up on the census of Cabanocey on the First Acadian Coast in Louisiana in 1766. At the time of the census, the had four sons and three daughters. The others LeBlanc families were his cousin Joseph married to Isabelle (Elizabeth) Gaudet, their four children and Marcel Leblanc married to a Marie and their one daughter.
Etienne and Elizabeth were my 5th Great-Grandparents. This is where my family originates. I am interested in any information concerning the LeBlanc's, but in particular how did Entienne and Elizabeth arrive from Nova Scotia to Louisiana after the "Grand Expulsion".
I am also doing research on the Lavergne Family from Quebec, in particular Louis Lavergne born September 16, 1681, son of Louis Lavergne and Marie-Anne Simon. He was married July 4, 1725 to Elizabeth Tommelin, daughter of Pierre Tommelin and Marguerite Coussenote.
If I can add any information to your research, or if you have any information that you are willing to share, please contact me at my e-maill address. "Good Huntin"
