Subject: Comment on Wm Perdue Sr.
William PERDUE Sr. was listed in the 1762 tax list of Chesterfield County, VA....in his household was Francis and Ezekiel PERDUE.....Wm Sr. signed over his estate to "son" Francis PERDUE for his care in his old age......Francis is the "only" proven son of William PERDUE Sr.....I would think Ezekiel was another son and circumstantial evidence links him to Wm PERDUE Jr.
(Montgomery County) as for HATCHETT this appears to come from early History
which indicated that John HATCHETT had three daughters one of which had
married to a PERDUE this reference does not name the daughter or the
PERDUE......one of John HATCHETT'S daughters was named Mary - "a" Mary PERDUE
witnessed a early land transfer for Wm Perdue Sr.... was this his wife (?) -
who knows...I list Mary (maiden?name) in my records but giving her a maiden
name based on info I have seen is skating on thin ice.....my two
cents.....Janet Perdue King
