We are researching our family, primarily the LOGAN line.
The family came to the Alberta, Canada foothills region and became guides and outfitters in the Banff area, primarily in the Jasper-Banff area.
My research begins with my grandfather, ROBERT ANDREW LOGAN, born Feb 09,1886 in Clarendon, Charlotte Co., New Brunswick, Canada died November 16, 1953 in Olds Alberta Canada.
His oldest brother was WILLIAM A, b abt 1869, died May 22, 1941 in Moberly Lake, British Columbia, Canada, followed by a sister MARY E, thought to be two years apart in age.
Then Robert's dad was supposed to have remarried and the wife brought a son to the marriage, HARRY.
Harry was b July 22, 1876 in Clarendon, Charlotte Co, New Brunswick and died August 06, 1941 in Sundre, Alberta, Canada. He was buried using the Logan name so if he was a step-brother I don't know how that could be.
Then we have JOHN JAMES LOGAN, aka Jack, b abt 1878, died 1939 in Olds, Alberta...
Next is CHARLIE, b May 20, 1882, died July 24, 1957 in Wenatchee, Washington, USA.
Something happened to the parents when Robert was either two or five years old because William, who had gone out west to Alberta, sent for or came back to New Brunswick and got his sister and half brothers and brought them to Alberta where he and Mary raised them.
Robert married MABEL PEARL PEPPER and they had one girl and three boys, one of which was my father,ROY.
MABLE PEARL PEPPER was raised in the Jumping Pound, Alberta, Canada area. She was born May 1,1896 in Edmonton (we believe this is correct!) and died Mar 15, 1935 in Dawson Creek, British Columbia, Canada.
She had six brothers, JUNIAN, FRED, HAROLD, HERMAN, WALLY and GEORDIE and a sister who died in infancy, all Peppers.
My mother was HELEN, whose parents were CHESTER TRUEY PAYNTER and NINA OLIVIA HYNNE. She has one brother, two sisters and a half-brother, all still living.
Her family came from Scott, Saskatchewan, Canada and before that Sisleom? South Dakota, USA and before that Norway. We know her Mother was born in Norway. They emigrated to the States and there were 11 children born to the family although we don't know which ones were born in the USA.
My wife has a very interesting family as well, parts of which are already documented. We will be researching her family on a different page and will provide a link to it when we have it up and running.
We would like to hear from ANYONE who has any information that could lead us to more of our family history. If you think you have found a link to our family, please contact us. We will gladly share all information that we have with anyone who feels we can help them.
