|Hi, My name is Glenda and I am researching my fathers line, The Skaggs. I am fairly new to this and having a great time as I track back through history and discover all kinds of great information about my family. I would love to share any thing I have already gathered about my line, but more than that, I would love to meet more Skaggs kin.|
The most of my people are being found in these counties in Kentucky..Bullitt,Edmonson,Green. I would really like to hear from anyone who might have known my great(s) grandfathers who
lived in Edmonson Co.,surely someone out there might have heard
some good stories,about my folk. Garland,Baalam,James Asel(jailer in Edmonson Co. in 1895),William Aaron,Aaron Skaggs...all residents (1903-1850).
It has been almost a year since Ilast updated this page..I am still trying to find the parents of my 4th great grandfather..Aaron Skaggs who married Susannah Meredith.
When I first started this tourney of looking at my families roots... I came across "Old James"Skaggs, I have to admit that I somehow felt, connected. I was determined to find that connection... well much to my amazement,, it didn't go the way I though it would. My line had stopped at Aaron yet, somehow I just knew I was going to break this brick wall and get all the way thru to "Old James Skaggs."Well that still hasn't happened, but Aaron's wife Susannah had a little surprise for me...for it was she who took me back to "Old James."Susannah's line has been well documented, and her line can be traced back to Old James Skaggs thru her mother Nancy Skaggs. Funny how this stuff works huh'.
The best thing about doing this work has been the family that I have met along the way.. doesn't matter to me if their a third cousin or fifth cousin once removed, it's all the same..all my family.
I will continue my search for Aaron's parents...I still believe that I will link him to "Old James" possibly thru James Jr or at least thats the next hunch, I have, but if not, it's gonna be fun trying.
