|I am currently researching the following family names. Should you have any information with respect to them please do not hesitate to contact me.|
LOWE (LOW) My paternal ggf was Amos Bull Low(e) who resided in Percy, Peterborough Cty, Ontario, Canada. I have reason to believe that it is he who appears in the the 1848/50 census for Canada West (Ontario) page 65 as "Low, Amos(Locale) Murray "North" Cty on page 34 and page 202 respectively, (Locale) Murray. He and Sarah Jane (KEMP) LOWE resided in Percy, Peterborough Cty, ON, CA in 1858 when my paternal gf James Byron Lowe was born. I am eager to obtain any information that would extend this lineage.
RUTTAN My paternal gm was Alice Mary Maud RUTTAN. There is a fairly extensive family documentation extending back to 14th century France and the DES MERETS family. I am grateful to many others who have provided much of this information and, of course, will be happy to obtain any more available.
MCKAY MCCOY and MCCAY My maternal ancestors date to the Revolutionary War in which my gg~f was a participant and died defending the land from the "colonial upstarts". I know only that he has been called "Squire" MCCOY. His widow whose name is as yet unknown and two children, Samuel and Ann, went to Canada where the mother remarried Capt. Wm. JOHNSTON, ofErnestown, Capt. Six Nations, Indian Dept. I would be most gratified to obtain more information from any quarter on this line of my forebearers.
WRIGHT My maternal gm was Florence born May 16, 1880. Her father was William WRIGHT and her mother was Mary Elizabeth ROSS probably both from Ontario. I have not yet developed any information on this family line.
BENEDICT Paternal gf to my wife was Elmer Robert BENEDICT. He was married 3 times and had two sons Verne and Robert. A brother's name of Elmer was Asher M BENEDICT who was married to Orpha and who died 05/08/1939.
STREVER Paternal gm to my wife. Much is available on www.strever.org regarding this portion of the family and a tree is published here.
Of course, any and all information on any of the above is graciously welcomed.
