|We are researching the surnames: Bauer, Beecher, Burns, Canfield, Dodge, Feldt, Geiman, Lenkeit, Mager, McLaughlin, Stark, and Willig. |
The Mager's and Willig's would be from the Illinois (Cook County - Bremen Township) area from present back to at least 1855.
We recently have found information on the Mager side which now takes us to the area of Gräfenhausen, Germany.Anyone with info on Mager's from this area would be appreciated.
The Beecher/McLaughlin side resided in Cook, Kendall and Whiteside Counties of Ilinois. The Beecher's have been traced back to The Civil War era with one Erastus Beecher serving in the 36th Illinois Infantry,Company E and dying at Perryville Kentucky in 1862.We are looking for where he is buried. After a trip to Perryville in 1999 we still can't assertain where Erastus is buried because he was probably "lost" when his body was moved from Perryville to Camp Nelson.
The Dodge side resided in Whiteside County, Illinois back to the mid 1840's.We are interested in one Franklin R. Dodge.Supposedly born in Ohio (approx. 1822), married Rosabell Goff, moved to Syracuse, NY (approx. 1878).
If anyone has information that might help, please contact us.We will be happy to share the information we have if your research includes any of the above surnames.
As always, more information to follow.
