Let me begin with my maternal grandparents, Charles Samuel Martin born in Roseland, Nebraska on March 9, 1903, died December 24, 1984, and Mamie Pearl Palmer born in Guthrie, Oklahoma on September 10, 1904, died 1996. My father's parents were Oscar Edward Hild born on June 17, 1915, died March, 1967, and Anna Louisa Wilhelminia Carolina Siebrasse born October 29, 1885, died December 17, 1976.
My father, the youngest of five children, Marvin Edward Hild born October 11, 1923 was killed in the service of his country on June 6, 1945 (D-Day) over the English Channel. My mother Joan Evelyn Martin born June 2, 1927 was one of five children. My parents were married March 28, 1943 in Grand Island, Nebraska.
On February 28, 1946,when I was three years of age, my mother married Irving Ostroff of Philadelphin, Pennsylvania, and I was adopted and raised by him. Irving was an accomplished pianist as well as a music teacher. He made his first debut at the age of five playing a 64 page concerto by memory. He appeared in the Who is Who in Music. I know very little about his family.
While I know all my aunts, uncles and cousins on my natural father's side of the family I know little else about the family tree.
