Hi family & friends!!This is a start to hopefully expand on my "roots" search. So far, the Maginity name goes back to Sylvester Maginity-born about 1846 in Perryopolis, Pa. He was a Civil War veteran.I also have some information on my grandmother (paternal side), Effie Maginity, nee Pearson, going back to Sweden in the 1800s.
I've tracked my mother, Bernice Vivien, nee McGulpin, on her father's line to a John McAlpin(McAlpine/McGulpin) born about 1735 in Scotland. (He had at least 3 sons, baptized in Lanark, Scotland in 1750s & 60s).
I've also tracked my mother's mother's side, Forquien det Leveille, back to the 1600s.
I'll be publishing my reports on these soon.
Any help, suggestions or comments will be appreciated.
