My search began as a middle age quest after I had been contacted by other, distant family members about their searches. I decided that I needed to know more, if not for myself, then for my children and grandchildren. And so it began . . .
The Portuguese Martin Family and the Irish McKenna families came together after Arthur Martin returned from WW2 and married Marion McKenna. But the story stretches back over the Atlantic Ocean, and the decades of travel and immigration, to Ireland, the Azores, and even Norway. To family members unseen and unknown, and familiar and precious.
