Dear Gary:
We were very disappointed in your response to D. Lumly about the frogs in our yards (May 23).

FROG CALLS
Jackie McAllaster of Walnut Creek called to explain how they dealt humanely with their noisy treefrogs.
Her kids brought tadpoles home from the creek and put them in their pool. They were soon "overcome" by frogs until Jackie says she couldn't read, think, or "anything else."
After about a month, her husband started going out every night after dark and shining a flashlight around until he got a (bright) reflection from the frogs' eyes.
The blinded frogs just sat there while he caught a few each night, put them in a jar with pool water and released them in a local creek.
He did that every night until there were no more frogs in their yard.
