|I am researching my family tree, primarily in New Zealand, but am interested in any overseas links to the family. Our family descends from John McBryde, who, as a twenty year old, emigrated to New Zealand in 1849 as a cabin passenger on the clipper ship "Agnes Muir", sailing from Glasgow, Scotland. He settled in Dunedin, Otago and married Matilde Dumas. John McBryde's parents John and Rosanna (nee McKenzie) lived in Plymouth, England where the family operated a business "McBryde Bros. Taylors". John And Rosanna had four children - (John, Henry Allen Mary and James). It appears from family documents the family had links with the Galloway area of Scotland. |
Another name in the family researches in New Zealand is Drennan.
Any information would be appreciated, even if tenuous, as it may provide a lead that can be followed up. I would be pleased toassist others with information I have.
