William H. Haefling
Services for William H. Haefling, 63, of 2946 Reed St. will be held at 8:30 a.m. Thursday in the Tom Mungovan Funeral Home and 9 a.m. in St. Hyacinth Catholic Church. A detective for the Norfolk & Western Railway before retiring two years age after 35 years of service,he was dead on arrival at St. Joseph's Hospital at 8 p.m. Sunday.
A native of Decatur, Mr. Haefling resided in Fort Wayne 55 years and was a member of St. Hyacinth Church and the Catholic Order of Foresters, and was an auxiliary member of the Fraternal Order of Police.
Surviving are his wife, Pauling; five daughters, Mrs. Mary Ann Gray, Greenville, Tenn., Mrs. Kathleen Menzie, New Haven, Mrs. Susie Stalf and Mrs. Barbara Hartmann, ofFort Wayne, and Patricia, at home; three brothers, Richard of Fort Wayne, Paul of Monroe, N.C., and James, Boca Raton, Fla.; and two sisters, Mrs. Helen Gallmeyer, Boca Raton, and Sister Ann DeLoures, Greenwood.
Calling will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.Third Order of St. Francis services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday.Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery.
