Served his time in Mersers Hardward Store in Carrick. Later went to Belfast. First World War was then on. So he joined up and may have fourth at the battle of the Somme, Nov 3 1917. After the war, he was offered a postmaster position in Smiley, Saskatoon, Canada. He moved there and married. When his health failed he moved to Edmonton to be close to his wife's people.
