I am currently researching the Mckaye(paternal) and Baskerville (maternal) families in Ontario.
The Baskervilles are relatively complete back to 1784; at least as far as my direct line is concerned. The family arrived in Canada from Youghal, Ireland in the early 1930's and settled in Oro Twsp., Simcoe Cty., Ontario. The cemetaries in Oro Twsp. are filled with Baskervilles.
The McKaye family is another story entirely. Longevity is not a family trait. I have not been able get past my grandfather, Thomas McKay. I know his birth / death dates, where he's buried (just discovered in Feb. 2000) and whom he married, along with her dates but that's it. We know he was a Methodist minister who spent some time in the Near North (Iron Bridge, Walford etc.) as well as Toronto but nothing more; parents, siblings, birth place?
I haven't decided whether to upload the family trees. For reference the surnames included are Keegan, Caldwell, McCord, Burgess, Bishop, Fell, Locke, Booth, Bagshaw, Bradley, Reynolds, Leigh, McLeod, Williams, McNiven, Livingstone, Leclair, Aitken, McKay, McKaye, Smitheram, Rae, Hindle, Rintoul and Haughie.
