I am researching the McLaughlin family of New Hampshire, Maine, and Illinois.I know that they came to New Hampshire in 1735, but I can't find the connection between John McLaughlin of that time and John McLaughlin of 1760 (married to Bethiah Wilkins). They had many children, including David McLaughlin, my 2nd great grandfather.
I am also looking for the roots of Colin Campbell McKay, who came to New Brunswick from Scotland in about 1830-40.He married Alicia Smullens, and had several children, including Colin Campbell McKay Jr., my great grandfather. The first Colin was either a doctor (probably) or a Lawyer, but I don't know from what university or even what city in Scotland.
Finally I am hunting for the family of Cushing B. Wilson, who, according to his death certificate, was born in 1810 in Maine (Hallowell?), and whose parents were from Scotland. He married Maria M. Hodgdon of New Hampshire in about 1834, and had six children.Who were his parents? Is his mother's maiden name Cushing?
If anyone can help me find these links, I would be most appreciative.I am certainly more than willing to share the material I have, which is considerable (including pictures).
Thanks for your time.
