My great-great-aunt, Mississippi Missouri McMath Allred stirred my interest and started my search in 1968, when I met her for the first time.It facinated me that she could remember so many facts about her family and never go to a printed page to do so. So I started my search and since then tramped through graveyards and spent hours searching through old courthouse records, and talking to any "old" relative I could find. I learned the hard way not to put off going to see an elder relative, they are gone before you know it. Now, with three granddaughters of my own, I hope to fill in the blanks on their ancestral charts. The list of surnames grows daily:McMath, Poe, Barker, Jobe, Clark, Moon, Petty, Dorsett, Brooks, Reeves, Oakes, Howell, Paschael, Hamilton, Rogers, Johnson, and the list seems endless at times. Am working hard to get everything I have on disks and be able to share it with everyone searching the same ancestors.
