Got 1870 census today from National Archives.He as listed as 15 years old.Birthday of 1855 makes more sense.
He died on April 12, 1943 from Ptomein Poisoning while living with his daughter Gertrude in Christopher IL.
January 20, 1999.Just examined the 1910 and 1920 census for Franklin CO Six Mile Township.In the 1910 census, Milton & Mary were married 23 years.They had 7 of their 10 children.He is listed as a coal miner.Grandma Gertie was listed as born in TN.Ronald, Claude, Gobel, Dan were born in KY.George and Jessie were born in IL.In the 1920 census, Mary is listed by herself as the keeper of a boarding house which she owns and on which she has a mortgage .Her marital status is "divorced"She is 45 years of age.Ronald, Claude, Gobel and Danwere listed as living there, occupation, coal miner.Flossie and Ira, listed as Arlie, have joined the household andare 7 and 5 respectively.George and Jessie are listed as being in school.Milton is listed at a separate address by himself.He is renting where he is living.He is also listed as a "widower" (maybe wishful thinking on his part).He is listed as a coal miner.
