Research goes back to PA--John Levis of Beaver County 1822 bought some property Butler Co Deed, E-187. He appears to have owned property before this but no records have been found to date.It appears he was a farmer.His Children are Hosa J. Levis, John Levis, Cassandra E Levis and Curtis Levis.
Curtis married a women named Sarah.We do not know her last name.We know she was born in 1794 in PA or Maryland.Curtis was first a tailor and then a farmer in Muddy Creek Twp.He died in 1834 or 1835.Sarah died between 1860-1870.We are not sure.Sarah did continue farming the 110 acres of land probably with the help of her children.

Mifflin Levis is in the Muddy Creek Twp tax record from 1836 to 1842 as a single man.He moved from Butler Co, PA to Tama Co in Iowa in 1855.Mifflin is the son who brought the Levis family to Iowa.
