Margaret was not of age to get married so her grandmother had to sign for her to get married.Margaret loved to read anything she could get her hands on.She loved to be around people and take care of her grand children.She would go fishing with her husband and his family even though she did not fish, she would sit reading.She also enjoyed catering party, no matter what the occasion you could count on her.She also excepted Jesus into her life.She only has one sister whom they loved each other dearly.Their mother died when they were both very young.Peg was 5yrs. old and her sister Jo was 3yrs. old.Their mother, mother was left to raise both of them.It was to much for her so she kept Peg and sent Jo to live with her sister Lizzy.Peg had her first child at the age of 14yrs. old.She got married not to long after that to her childhood sweetheart, Premo.They stayed married until he died in 1997.Peg had some illnesses after his death but persevered and went on to continue being there for her family, that is what was important to both of them.Peg also lost a son Donald in1959, he only lived 2wks.Peg is in a nursing home as a greeter, everyone knows her for her smile and her wave.Peg ran the house and the kids most of the time, because Preamo was a push over for his kids.You would always see Peg and Preamo cooking together in their home, because they enjoyed working together.They were always together, where you saw one, the other was not far behind.Peg is very smart and intelligent woman, who loved to read anything she could get her hand on.Ask her anythingabout anything and she could tell you about it.From Politics to Cooking she knew about.Her love for reading rubbed off on a couple of her children and grands.She has always been there for her family in no matter what kind of situation.She would cater parties for family and friends and just ask and she was there.She kept up with the latest dress and dances, she loved to dance.Her sister is so special to her, I don't know if she ever said that to her but her children no how much.Peg helped her children out when ever possible.She had accepted Christ in her live also,she still played her tithes to West Street A.M.E Zion Church in Carlisle even though she lived in Hbg. for years and had not attend services there in years.She enjoyed going and listening to church with her children.When you were around her you loved her presents.She was always a true friend and still is.Her father's name is Joe Johnson she has not seen him since her mother past.She tried to find him only to walk away with heart aches, but she kept her head high and kept going on.Margaret had a cancer of the throat, but would not tell anyone she had a lump in her neck because her husband was in the hospital at that time and she wanted him to get better and get out before she took care of herself.She eventually had to get a tech in her neck because from all the radiation and chemo the scare tissue started cutting off her air.She also had a feeding tube for nourishment because it was difficult for her to eat as much as she should for nourishment to her body.Margaret did not let any of this stop her she still carried on her normal life doing everything she wanted.Eventually she had a stroke and he had to be put into a nursing home, The Jewish Home Of Greater Hbg. where she lived for 7yrs. until she passed away.Margaret was happy at the nursing home, she made friends and all the nurse's, CNA's, and other department employee's all loved her and enjoyed talking to her.Her daughter worked at the home and Margaret was on her assignment and some days she would make her daughter and the nursing staffs days long.At the end of her life she had Hospice to help with her care.She was surrounded by her family, friends and the entire staff of the Jewish Home.She was very loved by her family, friends and the staff of the Jewish Home.Margaret a couple of days before she passed, she was in a simi-coma and raised up, like she saw someone and started reaching for them, no one was there but her family, that any physical eye could see, but she could see someone and she wanted to go with them.Her son said, Mom what is wrong and tried to put her arm down and she snatched it away from him.Her daughter tried but she snatched her hand away.Margaret passed away peacefully in her sleep.
