OUR RELIGIN, KUL DEVTA,KUL DEVI, ANDGOTRA (SURNAME):
We are Hindu by religion.
Our Kul Devta is "Shri Shyam Baba" of Khatu. Distt. Reengus and located about 17 Km from Reengus and 82 Km. from Jaipur.
Our Kul Devi is "Jeen Mataji" located at village Jeen Mataji, via Goria (Sikar) about 115 Km. from Jaipur via Reengus & Gorian.
Our family first goes to "Jeen Mataji" and there after to "Shyam Babaji" for taking blessings. Traditionally, the family follows the "MUNDAN" (Jadula) ceremony of the boys during Nav Ratri of Chaitra or Ashvin, when the boy is 1, 3, or 5 years as possible.
Where possible, the family also follows the tradition of "Jat Jadula" ceremony. This is normally done after marriage and after the birth of first boy (son). This ceremony is performed in two stages. First, after marriage "PACCA SAWA MANI" (Churma, Dal & Bati) made of wheat, sugar, ghee, and other ingredients weighing 50Kg. as parshad. On subsiquent "Jadula" (Birth) ceremony, the function is celebrated the same way but parshad is prepared total weighing 25Kgs. only and called "Kachhi Sawa Mani".
We are Agarwal, also known as Baniya's. Mittal is our "GOTRA" surname. It is said that there was a king named "Agarsan Maharaj" who had 17 sons. Mittal was one of them. We are therefore, Agarwals by cast and Mittal by "GOTRA" (surname) named after one of the son of king Agarsan.
