Notes for William Threadgill:
William and brother George, do not appear on Virginia rolls for the Revolutionary War, but, both are listed as soldiers of the Continental Line of the Georgia Brigade, and both petitioned for land in the Reserve for their service. William's rank was Captain.
William moved from Virginia to Anson County, NC much earlier than his brothers. He was one of the buyers of the estate of Edward Davidson, October 25,1777. He purchased 300acres of land on Gould's fork from Joshua Morgan, adjoining that of Joshua Morgan, under date of May 27,1778 (an indenture). This same 300 acres was deeded by William to his brother Randall, September 25,1783 (Anson Co. Bk. 7 p. 92 and Bk. C#2, p.64) which Randall deeded to his heirs.
William received a grant of land from State of North Carolina on Hurrcane Branch September 23,1785 (Bk 2,p11); two grants Nov 20 1790, adjoining, John Colson (Bk F-G, p 172-3)/ He also purchased land from George Davidson May 26,1783 on Pee Dee River (Bk H, p 63) and George Davidson also deeded land to his brother, Thomas, on Pee Dee River Jan 18,1787 (Bk 2,p 28).

Threadgill's Mill located on Brown Creek belonged to william who was Justice of the Peace of Anson County in 1788 and among petitioners to Dr. Benjamin Franklin, Oct 9,1789.
