The information on this individual is from personal knowledge of this researcher.
She retired from Lamy's in Sedalia, Missouri; she was a great cook, canned most of her own vegetables until she was unable to do so any longer; had a real take charge kind of personality and a firey temper when pushed too far.She was very active in her church and very well liked and respected in her community.
As related by her daughter, Anna Marie Johnson Wilson, on the occasion of her marriage to her second husband, Carl Wright Bennett, she had occasion to be at the bar run by her brother. She was not a woman who drank, but on this occasion her brother fixed her a sloe gin fizz. The drink tasted so good to her that she drank it pretty fast.Upon going home, she was feeling really dizzy and remarked that she thought the bed was moving.
Buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sedalia, Pettis, Missouri.See photographs of her headstone.
Her death certificate verifies her name; that her place of birth was Pettis, Missouri; her date of birth; that her parents were Henry John Wells and Anna Belle Shipler Wells; and that she was living at Fairview Nursing Home at the time of her death.
