Bertha Lilian Van Horne was born in Canon City, Colorado, August 10, 1909, the daughter of Bertha Ann Delano and James Cornelius Van Horne. She came with her family to Powell, wyoming in 1912 when they homesteaded on a farm in the Northend community.
She loved children and working for her Lord, as evidenced by her many years of work in the Child Evangelism Fellowship. She was a life-long member of the Baptist Church.She graduated with honors from Powell High School in 1928 and from Montana State College in Bozeman, Mont. in 1933. She taught school in Powell, Riverton and Lovell, Wyoming.
She leaves to mourn her passing, a brother George of Powell, four nieces, Georgia Mae Farwell, Wilma Jean Splitstone, of Powell, Anneke Scott of Cody and Edna Applehans of Riverton; one nephew, William Van Horne of Caldwell, Idaho; seventeen grand nieces and nephews, six of whom will be pall-bearers..
