I am researching the MORRISSEY and HENGESBACH families. James Morrissey emigrated to New York from Ireland in the mid 1840s and settled in Bunkerhill, MI in the mid 1850s.He was born around 1820.He married Ann KEENAN, though the spelling varies, in the mid 1840s.Nothing is known of their origins in Ireland or of their siblings.Ann's parents were Thomas Keenan and Alice. William Hengesbach (b. 9/14/1814) married Catherine Wieber PEFFER(b. 1809) and emigrated to the US from Wallen, Germany in the late 1830s.They settled in Westphalia, MI in the mid 1840s.His son, Theordore Hengesbach married Ann SCHAFER in 1870 in Westphalia, MI.Some parts of the family, including my mother's, changed their names to HENGESBAUGH. Any information would be appreciated. I am also willing to share the information that I have.
