Thomas Moss Dec'd and sole heirs of said Thomas and William Whitfield Moss, Samuel Moss, Marcellus Moss and Anson, ch. of Turner Moss.Stephen Sneed had judgement & bond against Turner Moss, 28 Mar. 1816 --had receiv. $150--needed $100.00 before Dec. 1817 - if receiv. would release all claim in tract of land purchased at public sale as Turner Mosses to Mrs. Moss & her children - $100 was paid + $376 also in disch. of jug. and bond of Turner Moss (paid by Thomas Moss in his lifetime & W. W. Moss, Samuel Moss, Marcellus Moss and Anson Moss.To all these, 1/5 part for use of Sally Moss, apart from her husband Turner for her lifetime.Land on waters of Creek Run & Little Nutbush Creek bounded by land of Joseph W. Hawkins, Henry Jenkins & Horace Rowland 110 ac. being land on which Turner Moss has lived for many years.Rec. Cour of Pleas & Quarter Sessions, Nov. 1849.

Turner Moss will
In the name of God Amen
I Turner Moss of Robertson County in the State of Texas, Knowing the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death, and that it is apointed unto all men to die, do make, ordain, and declare this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all others that may have been made.
Item first:I will give and bequeath unto my three sons Marcellus Moss, Samuel Moss, Anson Moss and my Granddaughter Louise Green Moss (the daughter of Thomas Moss) the following named Negroes, viz. Richmond a man, Lize a woman, Brutus a boy, Adeline a girl and Emeline a girl to be equally divided at my decease between the above named persons, share and share alike.
Item second:I give and bequeath unto my said son Anson Moss one hundred and fifty six dollars in money now in the hands of my son Marcellus Moss on the Emanuel Gholson note, which sum is to be paid to my said son Anson by my said son Marcellus.
Item third:I further give and bequeath to my said son Anson the sum of two hundred dollars in money to be paid to him by my said son Samuel out of the monies belonging to me now in his said hands.And if the said Marcellus Moss and said Samuel Moss shall refuse or fail to pay the said sums of money or any part thereof to the said Anson Moss as above named and expressed, then such amounts as they shall refuse or fail to pay to said Anson shall be deducted from theirs the said Marcellus Moss and Samuel Moss's portion of the negroes herein and above named and shall be added to the portion of the said Anson Moss.
Item fourth I further devise ____ give and bequeath unto my said two sons Samuel Moss and Anson Moss one waggon and all my farming utensils of whatever kind and also all my house hold and kitchen furniture of whatever kind to be equally divided between them the said Samuel and Anson share and share alike.
In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and scrawl for seal this the twenty sixth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty eight.

Edmund J. Davis, Governor of the
State aforesaid by virtue of the power vested in me by law and in accordance witht he laws of said state in such case made and provided do by these presents grant to the heirs of Turner Moss deceased, their heirs or assigns forever, one hundred and ninety two and one half acres (192-1/2) of land.Situated and described as follows:In Robertson county on the water of Little Brazos River about 19 miles S 5 N of Owensville being part of the land he was entitled to by virtue of Conditional Certificate No. ~ issued by the Board of Land Commissioners for Robertson County to Turner Moss for 640 acres on the 6th day of May 1844 in accordance with an act approved January 4th 1841 extending donations of land to late immigrants and by virtue of Unconditional Certificate No. 212, 2nd class issued to the heirs of Turner Moss dec'd by the board of Land Commisioner of Robertson County Dec. 24th 1853.Beginning at the NE corner of C. J. Neil's Survey on the western line of A. Henson's survey a stake from which a Post Oak marked X bears NE 0 W 13-6/10 varas another marked X bears S 18 W _ varas.Thence S and W with said Neil's line (1163) varas intersect the Eastern line of M. Martinez Survey sth a stake from which a Post Oak marked X bears N 20' and 5(3?)-6/10 varas and a hickory marked X bears N 83' W 4 varas.Thence N 2 W wtih the last named line 780 varas intersect the southern line of Gen. McMullen's line 104 varas to his SE corner stake from which a Post Oak 13 in dia bears N t & 5 varas.Thence N 30 W with the Eastern line of said McMullen survey 357 varas intersect the southern line of A. Manchaca's six league survey sit. astake.Thence N 71' E 2 varas intersect the western line of A. Henson's survey set a stake fr and which a Post Oak marked X bears N 20 & 8 varas and another marked X bears S 54 W aa-4/10 varas.Thence S 30 E with said Henson's line 945 varas to the beginning.
Hereby relinquishing to them the said heirs of Turner Moss Dec'd and their assigns forever all due right title incurred to said land heretofore held and possessed by the said State and I do hereby issue this Letter Patent for the same.In testimony whereof I have caused the seal of the state to be affixed as well as the seal of the General Land Office.Due at the City of Austin on the ninth day of May in the year of our Lord One Thousand and Eight Hundred and Seventy.
