|Origins of the MUSTON surname |
The surname of Muston from my own research is that it is a local English name.
It is one of those types of names where a man once lived or owned land.
There seems to be two sources of where the surname Muston could have derived from.
1. Old English. referring to one who lived at or near a "mouse-infested or muddy farm" MUS: mouse, TON: farm
2. Old Norse personal name "Musi", for instance one who lived at "Musi's Farm" MUSI: personal name, TON: farm.
