March 24, 1788 from records of Ray Sheffield.William Brooks was a Revolutionary War pensiolner.His application is on file at the National Archives in Washington DC (R1259 Va, microfilm series M-804, Roll No 355)He was born Feb 3 1752 in Fanquier County and entered service in Oct. 1778 at which time he was a citizen of Culpepper County.He was drafted a second time in Feb 1781 at which time he was a resident of Botetouri County Virginia.He applied for a pension on the 25th of Sept 1832 at which time he lived in Tazewell County.He was 81 years of age at the time.
