Our Nicely family is from Switzerland.Nussli was the name used from 1500 to 1700.TheAntonius Nussli, Sr. Family came over to PA about 1717. They settled in Lancaster Co., PA. where Antonius Nussli, Sr. changed his name to Nicely.In the mid to late 1700 Antonius Knisley/Nicely, Jr.went to the Shenadoah Valley in VA. I have some marriage records for the Nicely's in VA in the 1700's. I have a deed for Jacob Nicely, a son of Antonius, Jr. for 1790 in Shenadoah Valley. Recently I found a genealogy from 1500 in Switzerland to 1900 in VA & OH.I have not verified this genealogy.There are sources listed and it ties in with my family in VA.

I havea map of Lancaster, Co., PA from the 1860's that show property of Nicely's in that county.I have census records from the 1850's & 1860's on my father's family from Rockbridge Co., VA.I have a History Of Rockbridge Co., Virginia published by Oren F. Morton in 1920.It includes many Nicely names from the Civil War.There are other names From Colonial times that are, later in 1700, associated with the Nicely's.I will be happy to look up a few names for you from the book.
