My grandfather was Louis Nicolosi (b. 9/24/1863, d. 1/19/1934) He came to this country on November 5, 1882.He was a native of Bisacquino, Sicily and landed at New Orleans. He later met Mary Liuzza (b. 6/1/1874, d. Nov 5, 1898) and they married in the St. Louis Catherial in New Orleans on 4/20/1892. Mary's father was Nunzia Liuzza. From this marriage were born three children: Joseph Nicolosi (b. 12/17/1893, d. 7/18/1958); Frances Nicolosi,(b. Sept 1895, d. 7/25/1933); Nunzia Nicolosi, (b.11/5/1898, d. 1899); His first wife, Mary, died in childbirth with Nunzia. The infant child, Nunzia, died six months later from pneumonia. Louis later married Anna Lungario (b., d. 5/3/1936).From this marriage there were two children: Michael Paul Nicolosi (b. 2/9/1905, d. 12/30/1983) and Mary Agnes Nicolosi (b. 1/18/1911, d. 12/31/1983). Although there is family back in Sicily, contact has been lost with them. There were some Nicolosi cousins in New Orleans, but contact with them has also been lost. Louis was a resident of White Castle, Louisiana in Iberville Parish. He owned a general store there and acquired some property. He was a talented musician and also taught music in New Orleans where he owned a music shop. Most of the descendants of this family live within a 100 miles of New Orleans.
