Notes for Fred Ackermann:
(Information written by Theresa (Ullrich) Martin in 1985)
Fred lived in Glasgow, Montana and long as I (Theresa) knew him.He would come to visit at Mom's and Pa's at Christmas time.He never married. His sister Anna tried to influence and change him, but never didn't have much luck!Mom got along very well with Fred and brother Joe.Fred loved the homemade blood sausage, and so did Joe.Fred worked in ranching and trucking. He always smoked a cigar and liked to dream of ways to get rich fast.Although his schemes never worked out, he was a kind person and interesting. He was good friends with a family in Montana who treated him just like like family.
He fell ill in Montana, and Mom and Aunt Katherine and Helen traveled by bus see him.
Mom said that he was so glad to see them.He had emphysema and cancer. He was in the First World War and his funeral was in New Rockford with military rites said for him.
