I first became intrested in researching my family tree, after I had been dignosed with cervical caner, and wanted to try find my mother, and get information about not only our ancestors but also medical history which would prove of great importance to me. I have been now researching since about 1995. This is a non ending search of not only My family but also myHusband's as well. Still running into those famous Genealogy walls, but finding and trying to patch up some holes as well, with some great and interesting History. Finding out that both my husband and I are part Chereokee, along with both of us, being of German, Irish,& English Ancestory, with my Husband also being of some Polish Ancestory.
We are currently trying to connect some of his side, to the famous gun slinger of his times, and bank robber, Jesse James. Since my Husband's family has said, that my husband and his siblings are 4th cousins to that line. My line is directly linked to William Cantrell, one of the first settlers to come and settle in Virgina and to have witnessed the marriage of Captian John Smith and his Native American bride, Pocahontis. So there is a lot to search, and every new discovery makes me happy and want to dig deeper.
I have blessed with a great gift of always wanting to learn and know as much as I can about people and places, and genealogy gives that to me. Now, that I have been dignosed with Chronic Pain Syndrome, Ostoarthritis in my spine along with Spinal Stenosis, all of which can never be cured, but some of it,can be treated. I have the future of knowing that at some point I will be wheel chair bound for the rest of my life.
Until that day,I contuine to search for new medical ways to treat my Chronic Pain and My spinal problems along with searching my family history as well.
