|Maurice O'Rourk emigrated to the USA around 1850. His family gravitated towards the Midwest, settling in IOWA, KANSAS and OKLAHOMA until the 1930's. Two brothers, Maurice and Jerry then moved to the South and East respectively. The family surmanes considered part of the extended O'Rourk clan are Cusey, Wright, Greene, Imburgia, Pupatelli, Danies, Conley and Harris.|
There are large gaps in our family history prior to 1880 which generate the on-going search for more data.
I am Robert Paul O'Rourk, the present researcher, taking over for my father, Jerry Cusey O'Rourk. I live on Long Island in New York.
Maurice O'Rourk and his wife Margaret McLaughlin are the biggest and oldest enigma in the family tree. No "E" on O'Rourk is rare and may denote folks from Northern Ireland, rather than from what today is Ireland. Or did the E get dropped during immigration. I believe the former is true, can any other O'Rourk comment?
