May 11, 1590Richard Munden is a witness to the will of William Penn, ancestor of the famous William Penn.This was in London, England.
1746Kittrell is a shoemaker in Piscataway, Middlesex Co., NJ buying land from George Drake & wife Elizabeth Steele.She was a distant cousin of Benjamin Doty's.This land had been purchased by George Drake's father, also George, from the Proprietors of East Jersey or the Quakers. Interesting is the fact that among the Proprietors was Richard Mew (see Phillip Mew below) & of course William Penn.
1748Still in NJ Kittrell signed, as Mundin,the bond for the marriage of Lydia Mundin to Benjamin Doty.Lydia could possibly be the daughter or sister of Kittrell.We now know that Lydia & Benjamin had a son namedKittrell, so it is likely he was a close relative.
June 6, 1750Kittrell administrator to will of William Rogers along w/ BenjaminDoty in Piscataway, NJ.His name was signed Mundin.In November Kittrell is listed along w/ many others who owed money to the estate of James Jackson.His name was listed as "Ketrol Munday", the only time his name was spelled that way.The Rogers were Quakers & associated with the Perquimans Co Mundin's.
Feb 1757Kittrell in Craven Co.,NC.About this time the Mundin family shows up inBeaufort , Perquimans& Pitt Cos., NC.
Feb 1759Kittrell bought 100 acres in Anson Co., NC, sw of Peedee River, later in September he sold 60 acres of land in Craven Co to Phillip Mew.No evidence that Kittrell ever lived on his Anson Co. land.
May 5, 1769Kittrell named in Jones Co.,NC land deed for John Nunn. Earlier in April Kittrell sold his Anson Co land to John Hamer, Jr.
Jan 22, 1770Kittrell witness to will of Stephen Williams in St. George's Parish, GA.Also as witness was Joseph Mundine who has yet to be positivelyidentified,he could be the Joseph found in the 1800 Perquimans Co census.In May Kittrell appears at reading of will before the court.In Oct he is witness to a land deed between John & Mary Ann Maner & James Pierce.No known connection between any of these people & the Mundines.Kittrell's daughter-in-law, Sarah Brice Mundine was married first to a James Williams.There is a connection between the Pierce family & the Perquimans Co. Mundin's. Possible connection to us ??
September 14, 1771Deed of gift of 25 acres from Sarah Chapman to her brother Samuel.Sometime between this date & March 1773 Kittrell married Sarah, who was the sister of John & Samuel Chapman.Samuel Chapman is the father of Rispah Chapman, grandfather of Elizabeth Maria Yourie who married John Chapman Mundine the grandson of Sarah Chapman!
March 15, 1773 Kittrell& Sarah buy 125 acres in Carteret Co, NC from Samuel Chapman. Witnsses were Brice Williams & David Williamson.Same day he sells 25 acres to David Williamson.Witnesses were Charles Markland & Brice Williams.Charles Markland was a Baptist minister from a Perquimans Co., NC family.Charles Mundine may have been named in honor of this man.

Jul 25, 1786rec'd 1/2 acre of land south of church fromBaptist Church in Jones Co., NC.Deeded by Nathan Ball, witnesses were Richard Jones & J. Watson. Present day building built on the foundation of original. Present day cemetery on said land.No graves earlier than late 1880's can be located. No Mundines, 1 Howard.

1790census -2m>18, 1m<18, 6 F , & 13 slaves. In Feb Kittrell is listed as an Associate of the New River Baptist Church in Craven Co.,NC.Robert Nixon was Pastor.

Aug 29, 1791sold 200 ac Whitoak land to Isaac Gibson. Road through this land now called Gibson Bridge Rd., site of above Baptist Church & cemetery
Dec 10, 1792deeded land to Charles.Witnesses to deed were John & Martin Bender, also of Jones Co.,NC.This is the alias Sam Houston Mundine used in Carroll Co., MS 100 years later!Sometime in the next few years, before 1796, Kittrell died.
August 8, 1796The land known as Mundine's Mill, 900 acres & two tub mills on the White Oak River, was offered as for sale by Daniel Shine, Robert Nixon & Bazil Smith.These men were the step-son-in-laws of John Mundine.
