|We are searching for members of the Owen family who were living in New England before the Revolutionary War. We have a proven trail leading from Eleazer Owen of Belchertown, MA to the last of our line, Forrest Owen, Jr. We have been unable to find Eleazer's parents although we know from family, census, and Military Records that he was born in Ashfield, Ct. in 1761, fought in the Revolutionary War, received a military pension, and died in Belchertown, MA in 1843.By the way there are at least 4 Eleazers named in subsequent generations of various Owen lines, including ours. |
The town of Ashfield, Ct., from where Eleazer Owen of the Revolutionary War enlisted, does not now exist. Perhaps it was once part of what is now Ashford in Windham County, Ct. That is where we are searching as of February 1999.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Any help in this specific search would be most welcome.
