I am researching the Owen, DeCan, Zimmer, Schoenborn, Laux, Beachnau, Thriege and Scott family names.I am especially interested in information on the family members of Thomas H OWEN, formerly of Bloomington-Normal, Illinois. My grandpa was born in this area in July 1911.He served in WWII and later moved to Michigan with his bride Martha Jane THRIEGE circa 1945.My great-grandfather was Wesley Owen, who worked at the Panama Canal. My grandpa took the name of Wes after his father passed away.My great-grandmother's married name was Ora M OWEN.There is an OWEN Nursery in the Bloomington area owned by relatives of my grandfather.I believe grandpa's sister's name was Blanche.Thomas H OWEN's aunt was Mrs. Harriet HOPKINS- a well known horticulturist. Thomas and Harriet won first prize at the first World's Fair in Chicago.Thomas and Martha had four children- Wesley M, Lesley J (Wes and Les were named after twin relatives), Mardie Jane (deceased) , and Thomas Nelson. I am also interested in the SCOTT family circa 1915 in the Bloomington, Illinois area.Mr. SCOTT may have been a physician at an area hospital or medical center. He may have had twin children- a boy and a girl.I am also interested in recent family information of the SCOTT family.Carl DECAN married Erma early to late 1920s..They had eight children and Erma later married Peter TWORK circa 1970s after Carl's death. They live in the Muskegon/Spring Lake/ Nunica, Michigan area.Erma was born 1908.I am interested in the ancestors of Carl and Erma.I would appreciate any further information anyone may have. Please feel free to email me. I am happy to share any information I have.
