Andrew P. Page's death certificate says that he was born on 10/Jan/1856 in Georgia, but the family bible says he was born 10/Dec/1855 and he died 23/Mar/1931 in Haleyville, Winston County, Alabama. He is buried with his second wife in Prospect Cemetery, Haleyville, Winston County, Alabama. His father is listed as Franklin Page b. South Carolina and his mother is Mary Guthery b. South Carolina. Andrew is listed in the 1900 Winston Co. AL. census which list him as a widower age 36, b.in Georgia. His mother, Mary A. age 63 b. Aug/1836 Georgia, widow, was living in his household. The census shows that Mary had 2 children with only one living and that her father was born in Georgia and her mother was born in North Carolina. Andrew's children were: Columbus Marvin b. 1/Jan/1887; Zephie R. b. 17/July/1889; Lavada b.21/Feb/1892; and William Ranzy Floyd b. 27/Dec/1895.All the children were born in Alabama, father born in Georgia and mother born in Alabama. As you can see the census record differs from the death certificate.
Andrew married Pensular Jones born May 3,1862 either in Alabama or Georgia d/o James J. and Dilla Jones in Clay Co. AL. on 15/Jan/1885. The 1880 Clay Co. AL. census list Mary A. Page, widow with two children, James B. F age 20 b. Georgia and Andrew N. age 18 b. Georgia. James married Sarah A. Browning d/o J.M. Browning on 23/Dec/1880 in Clay Co. AL. Pensular died between December, 1895, when Ranzy was born, and 1900 when Andrew listed as a widower appeared in the Winston County census.
Andrew married for the second time on 30/Aug/1900 to Lurena Watts.Lurena was b.1874 in Tennessee, her father was born in Georgia and her mother in Tennessee. They had 6 children that I know of: George Sabaston b. 20/Aug/1911; Mary Savannah b.6/July/ 1901; Janey Caldonia[Doney]b. 29/Mar/1908 d.16/Nov/1985 married a Taylor; Cora Bell b. Aug/1909; Early Palmer b.1/Mar/1909; Mary Lile b.20/June/1913.
William Ranzy Floyd Page b. 27/Dec/1895 d. 15/Sept/1964 married Barbara Alice Taylor b. 8/Apr/1892 d. 8/Dec/1982, daughter of Edward F. Taylor b. 4/Oct/1869 d. 30/Oct/1961 and Margaret Defoore/Defore b. 24/Dec/1868 d. 8/Feb/1947. They are all buried in Littleville Cemetery, Winston County, Alabama. The children of Ranzy and Alice Taylor Page are: George, Charles, McKinley Wallace, Garvin, Marvin, Travis, Josie, Leola, and Nellie.
Alice Taylor's father Edward F. b. 1869 d. 1961,was the son of Simeon Taylor and Emeline [Armelia] Frost. There were several Simeons in the Walker and Winston County area and at this time I have not been able to prove which one is Edward's father. As for her mother, Margaret Defore [Defoor] b. Georgia 1868, I have found nothing to prove who her parents were at this time.
Emeline Frost is the daughter of Snowing and Susannah L. Oden Frost.
Snowing is the son of Edward Sr. and Amilla Roberts Frost.
Susannah is the daughter of Hezekiah Jr. and Mary Terrell Oden.
Some of the information on this page I have documents that prove it is correct, but as with most genealogy, part of it is from undocumented sources. Please use this only as a reference, and not as fact.I would welcome any corrections or additions to my information. Thank you.
